Describe your favorite Berklee experience so far.

My favorite Berklee experience was participating in Audire Soundtrack Choir and Orchestra's Around the World spring 2020 concert, just before the pandemic sent us home. During that show, I was given the opportunity to sing "Chim Chim Cher-ee" from Mary Poppins with the full Audire orchestra and choir, which felt nothing short of surreal.

When you think about your favorite class so far, what is one example of why you enjoyed it?

My favorite class at Berklee has been Unity for Musicians. Over the course of a semester, my peers and I learned to implement audio in multiple ways into UnityEngine games using C# scripts, which is something super cool that I never would have expected to learn about as a music student. Besides the content of the class, this class has been my favorite so far because it was taught by Eric Hamel, who is one among the many kind, understanding, and inspiring professors in the Film Scoring and Video Game Scoring departments.

What is your favorite part about studying and living in Boston?

This might be a cheesy answer, but the best part of Boston to me has been the friends I've made. I don't think I have ever met people as driven and creative as I have being at/in Berklee/Boston; living in Boston with friends as hardworking and artistic as mine, I constantly feel inspired and strive to perfect my own art as much as they have.

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying to Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee?

Don't be afraid to apply/audition with your authentic self—it's easy to feel insecure about yourself and your music when applying to Berklee, trust me, I've been there! But let's just say I wouldn't be where I am today if I didn't allow myself to audition to Berklee with my true self and music that matters to me.

Where is your favorite place on campus?

160 Massachusetts Avenue! This was my freshman year dorm, and it is the dorm that I currently oversee as one of the head resident assistants at Berklee. 160 is my home away from home, and I have many fond memories attached to it.

Why did you choose Berklee?

Berklee was always my top choice college because it was the only place where I could see myself being truly happy, and I knew that to become successful in today's music industry, Berklee was the best place to start. Additionally, as an aspiring film composer, Berklee boasts numerous accomplished film scoring alumni and the world's best film scoring program, so there is really no place I'd rather be!

What are your plans for after graduation?

After graduating, I hope to either continue my studies by pursuing a master's degree or finding a job within the film, video game, or XR industry! After interning with AmazeVR as part of the creative development team this past summer, I am slowly leaning more towards finding a job within the VR industry specifically because of how much fun I had working there.

What have you enjoyed most about the live shows you’ve been involved in at Berklee?

I have loved being involved in live shows at Berklee because of the excitement and process leading up to them. It sounds ironic, but I truly do love the moments between my friends and me leading to a performance at Berklee because sometimes those moments can be more memorable to me than the actual performance!

Where do you hope to perform this coming year?

I hope I get the chance to be involved in a caf show this upcoming semester, or maybe even a Red Room show!
