Describe your favorite Berklee experience so far.

Some of my favorite experiences at Berklee have been the open mics, especially the songwriting ones. It’s always a really supportive environment and it’s a great way to practice performing!

When you think about your favorite class so far, what is one example of why you enjoyed it?

One of my favorite classes was DAW for Songwriters: Logic Pro X. I really loved having a music production class that was geared toward songwriters because we got to focus a lot on mixing vocals and making them the focal point of the songs.

What is your favorite part about studying and living in Boston?

I love that there are Berklee buildings all over Boston so it doesn’t feel like we’re in a college campus, and that there are so many opportunities to perform and have fun outside campus!

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying to Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee?

Do what you want for your audition, not what you think they want to hear. There are so many different kinds of students here with their own individual talents, and Berklee wants to see you for who you are and help you grow.

Where is your favorite place on campus?

Some of my favorite places on campus are the 160 practice rooms! I have written so many songs in them and they’re soundproof so they’re a great place for recording!

Why did you choose Berklee?

I chose Berklee because I loved that there was such a good mix of education and performance opportunities that would truly help me build a career. I also loved that I would be joining a community of people that are as passionate about pursuing a music career as I am!

What are your plans for after graduation?

I plan to move to New York City or L.A. and be an artist and songwriter. I’m working on my music production skills as well so I might also want to produce for myself or other artists.

What have you enjoyed most about the live shows you’ve been involved in at Berklee?

I always love the supportive atmosphere that’s created by all the students, especially at all the open mics. I was also in the orientation show this fall and I loved being able to welcome new students to our school in such a fun way!

Where do you hope to perform this coming year?

I hope to be in a BPC or caf show! I’m excited to audition for every opportunity I can this year.
