Describe your favorite Berklee experience so far.
My absolute favorite Berklee experience so far is when I randomly knocked on the door of 160's ensemble room to say hi to some really good musicians and now we've become homies and formed a band called @_the_mischief
When you think about your favorite class so far, what is one example of why you enjoyed it?
Harmony 3 was my favorite class at Berklee. I had an amazing harmony teacher; her name is Suzanne Clark. I used to struggled a lot with harmony, but after studying with Suzanne, I've learned a lot and understand harmony deeper.
What is your favorite part about studying and living in Boston?
Boston to me is my second home. Boston is beautiful, peaceful, a little too cold sometimes but playing music will make me sweat again in the 150's basements. People usually call Boston "college town" and I agree with it. I'm surrounded by so many college students and it's great to be living in a safe community.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying to Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee?
I would advise and encourage you to take as many benefits and opportunities Berklee gives you as possible. Go out and meet people! You will never know who you're gonna meet at Berklee.
Where is your favorite place on campus?
Favorite place on campus has to be CTC. I spend a lot of time here and I think you should really check it out!
Why did you choose Berklee?
I chose Berklee because my dad went here too! He told me a lot about Berklee and I fell in love with it since I was little. I also loved that Berklee offers many different interesting courses, major, and minors.
What are your plans for after graduation?
I'm not sure how life will go. But ideally, I want to come back to Vietnam and share what I learned with my audience and friends. I also want to work overseas with international artists. Hopefully it will be possible, and I believe it will be possible!
What have you enjoyed most about the live shows you’ve been involved in at Berklee?
The Berklee BPC shows and caf shows always blow my mind. The live arrangements by students are so creative and insanely professional.
Where do you hope to perform this coming year?
My dream venue to perform at Berklee is the BPC.
