Describe your favorite Berklee experience so far.
My favorite Berklee experience was the day of my birthday this past year. I was so excited that it landed on an in-person day! My cohort showered me with love and sang "Happy Birthday" with four-part harmonies, and it was so surreal because the life I had wished for on birthdays past was happening right before my eyes.
When you think about your favorite class so far, what is one example of why you enjoyed it?
My favorite class changes every time I get asked this question, but if I had to choose right now, it would be tap. My teacher Aaron Tolson brought so much joy into the classroom with his deep love of the art form. He also shows so much love and care for each of his students and never failed to give me the encouragement and support I needed to succeed in class.
What is your favorite part about studying and living in Boston?
Every day in Boston is a reminder of how lucky I am to be studying in a city with such a rich history and culture to explore. There is art, a story to tell on every street corner, which serves as a constant source of inspiration to me as an actor and a storyteller.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying to Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee?
Lead with joy. When auditioning, choose material that makes you happy. When answering interview questions, talk about stories that make you smile. Applying to college can be very stressful, but if you choose to surround yourself with joy it makes the experience so special.
Where is your favorite place on campus?
The steps of 8 Fenway! For so many years I'd seen pictures of students documenting their time at Boston Conservatory by posing on those steps. Now every time I cross them, and look out at the beautiful Boston scenery, I feel so lucky to be there myself and bring new students to the steps to take their very own pictures to celebrate becoming a part of the BoCo family.
Why did you choose Berklee?
I chose Berklee because I was so excited to go to school in a community of artists, surrounded by peers and faculty with the same passion and drive that I have for storytelling. I think that there is so much to learn beyond the classroom at Berklee, which makes for such a unique, fulfilling college experience.
What are your plans for after graduation?
Right now my plan is to see where the wind takes me. I simply hope to continue creating art and telling stories in whatever way that future chooses to manifest itself.
What have you enjoyed most about the live shows you’ve been involved in at Berklee?
My experience has been a little different, starting off my journey during the pandemic, however the innovation and creativity of bringing live theater to virtual platforms has never ceased to amaze me.
Where do you hope to perform this coming year?
On a stage! Any stage I can get! I am so eager to perform anywhere and everywhere after this long intermission.
