Step by Step (Dance)

Move to music in weekly, hour-long classes. Learn the basics of dance, develop social skills, use your imagination, and express yourself with movement. Two sections of the class are available—one for students with autism and one for students with Down syndrome.

These classes meet in our studio theater building at 31 Hemenway Street, Boston.

Autism Spectrum Program

Ages: 8–14. 

When: Saturdays in the fall and spring semesters (this program is on hold for spring 2021 due to COVID-19).

Time: 10:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m.

Tuition: $150 per semester; 10 sessions (first session is free) per semester.

Down Syndrome Program

Ages: Late teens–early 20s.

When: Saturdays in the fall and spring semesters. spring 2023 dates: Saturday, February 18 through Saturday, April 29. There will be no class on Saturday, March 25.

Time: 10:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. 

Tuition: $150 per semester; 10 sessions (first session is free) per semester.

Additional Information

  • No previous dance experience is necessary.
  • Students must be able to participate effectively in lessons or classes, and maintain an environment that is safe for themselves and others.
  • Please note that tuition assistance is not yet available for Step by Step.
