Describe your favorite Berklee experience so far.
The 36th International Folk Festival has been hands down my favorite Berklee experience so far. It really highlighted why I applied to this amazing school in the first place. It celebrated music from all over the world with beautiful students from every corner and it was such an honor to be a part of it as the first female student representing my country.
When you think about your favorite class so far, what is one example of why you enjoyed it?
My favorite class is definitely the Indian Ensemble. It is an ensemble with a very special bond and community. I feel very lucky to be a part of it. From learning challenging music to just goofing around and enjoying ourselves, it's been a very educational and fun class.
What is your favorite part about studying and living in Boston?
My favorite part of studying and living in Boston is the amount of touring artists I get to see at concerts.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying to Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee?
One piece of advice I would give to someone applying to Berklee is make sure to study up on music theory beforehand if you have the time. It really helps you as a musician once you are in the school and helps you test out of some classes, which in the long run helps you graduate earlier.
Where is your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus is the studios.
Why did you choose Berklee?
I chose Berklee because it is one the best contemporary music schools in the world and I was drawn to it by the Indian Ensemble.
What are your plans for after graduation?
My plan after graduation is to be a producer and artist and work in New York or Los Angeles.
What have you enjoyed most about the live shows you’ve been involved in at Berklee?
I love the energy from the fellow students when I do any live shows because its very rare to be able to perform in front of a crowd who all understands and loves music. We are all in the same boat and very supportive of each other so the vibe is amazing.
Where do you hope to perform this coming year?
I hope to perform at BPC again and hopefully at the City Winery this coming year.
