Describe your favorite Berklee experience so far.
I got the opportunity to get my own piece placed by a full orchestra. I got to lead the rehearsals and conduct the piece myself. The show itself was amazing and I will never forget it. Now I get to have it for my portfolio!
When you think about your favorite class so far, what is one example of why you enjoyed it?
I got to compose a piece for a short scene from a movie and then I got to record it in a recording studio. It was an amazing experience getting the chance to hear my piece played live.
What is your favorite part about studying and living in Boston?
I love the classes that I have been taking. They have made me a better composer and I have improved so much since I have been here. Living in Boston is amazing because the city is perfect for college students. There are things to do but it isn't a crazy big city so it isn't overwhelming. I love the atmosphere of studying here at Berklee, including the opportunities given to students.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying to Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee?
A huge piece of advice I could give is to take every opportunity that comes your way! Learn about the things that are going on and take advantage of them. Go to your professor's office hours and ask them questions, have them look at your stuff, and ask for their advice.
Where is your favorite place on campus?
My favorite places are the concert venues, such as the Berklee Performance Center, the caf, Lawrence and Alma Berk Recital Hall, and the David Friend Recital Hall.
Why did you choose Berklee?
I chose Berklee because of the professors, the opportunities, and the film scoring classes.
What are your plans for after graduation?
I plan to go to Los Angeles, California, and apply to Bleeding Fingers as an assistant or as an assistant to a composer. I will take any job I can get as long as I am in the film/music industry!
What have you enjoyed most about the live shows you’ve been involved in at Berklee?
I love playing my instrument and being a part of a performance is an amazing experience. I love bringing the music to life and playing with people.
Where do you hope to perform this coming year?
I hope to perform at the Berklee Performance Center and a cafe show that are both coming up in the next two semesters.
