Describe your favorite Berklee experience so far.
Meeting new faces and finding those with the same passions, and truly discovering more about myself.
When you think about your favorite class so far, what is one example of why you enjoyed it?
The professors! Teachers make such a great difference in how a course will run; they truly make or break your experience. My favorite professors so far at Berklee have been welcoming and created a safe space within their classes to express all opinions.
What is your favorite part about studying and living in Boston?
I love city life and I always have! A busy life is crucial to my routine and I very much enjoy a fast-paced lifestyle.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying to Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee?
Follow your heart, as cliché as it sounds. It’s important to remember why you’re there, despite the inevitable “imposter syndrome.” You're here for a reason, DO NOT doubt your talent just because others are also talented, I promise you will find your path at Berklee.
Where is your favorite place on campus?
The 7 Haviland lounge.
Why did you choose Berklee?
For me, it wasn’t an easy choice at the time. I struggled between choosing a “normal” college and a music school. I hated the idea of change and moving further away from what was familiar, but I am so grateful I did. Despite my fears, I knew deep down that Berklee was the school for me. They had the program I craved and opportunities I sought to pursue: It could not have been a better choice.
What are your plans for after graduation?
I plan to earn my master's degree and maybe even my doctorate, as I want to open my own practice and discover a more neurological approach to music therapy by furthering my education in either music therapy or neuroscience.
What have you enjoyed most about the live shows you’ve been involved in at Berklee?
The originality of each performer. Seeing a person perform live proves their humanity and true creativity. I think this is crucial to the Berklee experience, as it eliminates the idea of intimidation by fellow classmates.
Where do you hope to perform this coming year?
The BPC would be an ultimate goal for this coming year. I hope to further come out of my shell and become more comfortable in front of others, as this will not only benefit my performance, but also my ability to work in my desired career.
