Description
Design can be thought of as a process, a product, a way of thinking, or even a plan to make something. This course will explore the concept of design—its definition, execution, past, as well as how it interacts with society, technology, and culture.
Students will learn how to think like a designer, as well as how to evaluate design from a variety of different lenses—functionally, aesthetically, ethically, culturally, and within the context of a certain time period. Further, a link will be drawn between design and innovation, as the course will introduce students to design-based approaches to creative thinking and problem-solving.
