Academics
With an array of undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as summer, international, and precollege offerings, Berklee College of Music provides options for students of all levels to explore and achieve their artistic, academic, and career potential.
In recent years, artists like Rosalía and Alejandro Sanz have demonstrated that flamenco music can reach large audiences. Javier Limón, artistic director of Berklee's Mediterranean Music Institute, professor of Spanish songwriting, and multiple Latin Grammy Award–winning producer and composer, will lead a clinic on the various aspects of writing flamenco music and how to blend it with other styles such as jazz, Latin, and hip-hop. This clinic is open to all members of the Berklee community.
This year’s Mediterranean Music Institute concert repertoire features ancient Persian and Middle Eastern influences with songs from Iran, Palestine, Egypt, and Tunisia and creates new bridges between the Latin cultures.
