Describe your favorite Berklee experience so far.

My favorite Berklee experience so far has been during my performances at school. I played my first caf show in fall 2022. I put together a set list of my original songs arranged by my incredible friends I have met here. Then I got together a full band of 12 of my friends, including a rhythm section, horn section, percussionist, and background vocals. The night we performed many people attended to support me and that showed me how much my music can make an impact on someone.

When you think about your favorite class so far, what is one example of why you enjoyed it?

My favorite class at Berklee has been one that I took at the Berklee Valencia campus called "Live Sound and Stagecraft." I enjoyed this class because of its applicability to the outside world. This class not only taught real-life situations and allowed us to set up for those situations during class, but the teacher also provided outside of class opportunities to practice what we were learning.

What is your favorite part about studying and living in Boston?

I love studying in Boston because of its bustling activity throughout the streets pushes me to get things done, work hard each day, be independent, and walk everywhere.

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying to Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee?

My advice to someone applying to Berklee is to be open minded to all that Berklee has to offer and don’t compare yourself to others. It is important to know that the music you create is yours and can’t be compared to anyone else because we are all different, come from different backgrounds, and most likely have different goals. So stick to yourself and the beauty of the music you want to share.

Where is your favorite place on campus?

My favorite place on campus is the 150 practice rooms. They may not be the most soundproof but I enjoy that about them because I can hear music flowing through the halls. I have also written some of my favorite songs in these practice rooms.

Why did you choose Berklee?

I chose to attend Berklee because I wanted to be surrounded by music all the time and Berklee also has great classes to teach you the core music theory as well as really exciting classes for your major and electives.

What are your plans for after graduation?

My plans after graduation are to go to London first to check out the music scene and then L.A. In both of these situations, I will be aiming for a job in live sound engineering or something while I also work on being an artist and performing/writing/producing music.

What have you enjoyed most about the live shows you’ve been involved in at Berklee?

The things I enjoy most about being in live shows at Berklee are the professionalism that goes into the shows, such as the lighting designs and professional sound engineering, and also that the Berklee professors are usually the show producers so you get to work with them on your performance.

Where do you hope to perform this coming year?

I hope to perform at the BPC this coming year and also in venues/restaurants/bars around Boston with my original music band.
