Originally a professional musician, Derek Sivers(Opens in a new window) created CD Baby in 1998, a company that went on to become the largest online seller of independent music, with $100 million in sales for 150,000 musicians. In 2008, Sivers sold CD Baby for $22 million and gave the proceeds to a charitable trust for music education. He is a bestselling author and a popular speaker at the TED Conference with over five million views of his talks. Wood Egg, his newest company, published guides to 16 Asian countries in 2014, and now focuses on GoToLaunch—an initiative helping internationally-minded entrepreneurs establish thriving businesses around the world.
