Lana Scott Advances to the Top 20 on The Voice

For about 60 seconds on Tuesday, October 13, Lana Scott ’14 believed her time on NBC's hit singer-based competition The Voice was over. As part of Team Blake [Shelton], she had lost in the Battle Rounds portion of the show, only to be brought back a minute later by judge and mentor Shelton, who used his one save to keep Scott in the competition.
This week, Scott more than justified that save as she won the Knockout Rounds, beating out fellow contestant Carson Peters with her powerful rendition of Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams." The Virginia native and country/pop artist studied vocal performance before accepting a spot as a singer on Carnival Cruise Lines through an audition held at Berklee. With her latest win, Scott enters into the coveted top 20 portion of the show, which is conducted live.
Berklee artists have a long history of competing on The Voice, and have included Ricky Duran '11, Mendeleyev Allan-Blitz B.M. ’16, Brooke Stephenson B.M. ’14, Erika Zade, Courtney Harrell ’01, and Jackie Foster B.M. ’18.
