If you have previously attended Berklee College of Music's Boston-based undergraduate program and are interested in completing a bachelor's degree (either a Bachelor of Music or a Bachelor of Professional Studies), you may be eligible for Berklee’s degree completion initiative. Please note that this program is applicable only to alumni of Berklee College of Music. This program is not available for currently enrolled Berklee College of Music students or Boston Conservatory at Berklee students. If you are a current college student, see the list of online course equivalencies that you can use toward your degree, and talk to your major chair. If you are a current Conservatory student or a graduate of the Conservatory, please contact the dean of your division.
If you have fewer than 90 credits completed, you may be able to complete a Bachelor of Professional Studies at Berklee Online. You can also contact a Berklee Online advisor at 1-866-BERKLEE with any questions, or to start your application. For students who are local or able to come back to campus, you may re-enroll at Berklee.
If you have completed at least 90 credits toward the Bachelor of Music degree—with at least 60 credits on the Boston campus—and if you have less than 10 credits to complete within your major concentration, you may be able to complete your B.M. through directed study, online courses, or a combination of the two. Complete the form below to learn more about your options. For students who are local or able to come back to campus, you may re-enroll at Berklee.
If you are unsure of your transcript status, please fill out the form below and we will advise you on your best course of action.

Berklee Degree Completion: Frequently Asked Questions
Can diploma students take advantage of the degree completion initiative?
At this time, there is no option for a student to remotely complete the diploma program. However, if you are a former student who completed a professional dipoma, you are most likely eligible to complete a Bachelor of Music degree through this program and are encouraged to apply.
What is the current cost to students who wish to participate in this program?
You will pay the same per-credit fee that you would if you took the course on campus. The only difference would be the associated on-campus fees, which would be waived for the remote student. You can find a breakdown of those costs via the Office of Student Accounts.
Courses taken at Berklee Online are subject to a different set of costs. You can find more information about Berklee Online tuition and fees here.
How does transfer credit work from a non-Berklee institution?
Students can submit transcripts to Berklee from other institutions, as long as they abide by Berklee’s transfer credit policies. Please find more information on transfer credit services here.
Can international students participate in the degree completion program?
Yes. Because this program is composed of remote directed-study courses, online courses, and transfer courses, it is possible for international students to participate without the need for immigration documents. Since degree completion students are typically not on campus to complete their course work, F-1 immigration regulations may not apply.
If you wish to maintain your F-1 visa status, you will have to abide by the standard immigration regulations and will not be eligible for the remote degree completion program.
The returning student coordinator will advise international students. International students must still abide by the transfer credit policies if transferring course work into Berklee from a non–U.S.-based institution.
How do alumni request copies of their transcripts?
Alumni can request copies of their transcripts through Berklee's online transcript request service. Official transcripts can be sent directly to the institution of your choice or sent to you in a sealed envelope for you to deliver. You may also request an unofficial transcript for your own records. More information is available here through the Office of the Registrar.
Are there options for incoming students to take online courses prior to coming to campus?
Yes. Incoming students may take courses at Berklee Online prior to attending Berklee's Boston-based campus. Further information and course listings are available here through Berklee Online.
