Assistant Professor of Composition Elena Roussanova Lucas attended the world premiere of her orchestral composition Moments of Arrival in Moscow, Russia, in May. Professor Julius Williams conducted the Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory Symphony Orchestra in the premiere performance.

Brass Department Professor Tiger Okoshi produced music for a new CD by the Japanese-born singer Mizuho. In March Okoshi and faculty members Daniela Schachter (voice), Mark Walker (drums), Mike Tucker (saxophone), and Bruno Råberg (bass) provided jazz coaching at the Hokkaido Groove Camp in Sapporo, Japan.
Assistant Professor of Guitar Ken Taft played with the pit orchestras for three musicals and has recorded three CDs. He endorses Hamer guitars, Maxon pedals, and Black Diamond guitar strings.
Composition Professor Marti Epstein premiered her recent works Bloom for wind ensemble and English horn; liquid, fragile for clarinet and string trio; unRaveling for flute, violin, viola, cello, and harp; and Weather Patterns for chorus and solo cello.
