Three Berklee Alumni Win 2020 Tony Awards

Charlie Rosen, Brian Lee, and Dayna Bloom took home awards for their contributions to Moulin Rouge! The Musical.

Three Berklee College of Music alumni were winners at the 74th annual Tony Awards on Sunday, September 26, which celebrated the 2019–2020 Broadway season.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical was the big winner at the ceremony with a total of 10 wins, including one for Best Musical.

Charlie Rosen ’12, a three-time Drama Desk Awards nominee, received his first Tony in the Best Orchestrations category for his work co-orchestrating Moulin Rouge! The Musical. The multitalented Rosen’s Broadway credits include Be More Chill, Prince of Broadway, and American Psycho.

Brian Lee B.M. ’14 and Dayna Bloom B.M. ’14, who served as producers for Moulin Rouge! The Musical, won in the Best Musical category. Lee and Bloom, who both majored in professional music at Berklee, previously won Tony Awards as producers of the 2018 Broadway revival of Angels in America.
