Berk Recital Hall

The Lawrence and Alma Berk Recital Hall is located on the ground floor at the 1140 Boylston Street building. It was named in honor of Berklee's founder, Lawrence Berk, and his wife, Alma. The venue hosts hundreds of events each year, including faculty concerts, senior concerts, and visiting artist clinics and master classes. Events are free and open to the public, giving the Boston community an opportunity to hear the rich and diverse talent that resides on campus.

Paul Pampinella, associate professor of voice, presents Five O'Clock Shadow (FOCS), one of Boston's most tenured vocal ensembles. FOCS performs a mix of original and cover music in the pop/rock genre. In April of 2026 they were awarded a CARA Award for Best Rock Album for Time and Time Again
