Sam Best is a composer and sound designer based in Boston. He studied electronic production and sound design at Berklee College of Music, with a focus on music and sound for picture. He is now working in multiple facets of the music and sound industries: assisting score sound designer Chris Lane (Black Panther I and II, Creed I, II, and III, and Tenet) on soundtracks for current and upcoming films and TV series on major streaming platforms, such as Apple TV+ and Prime Video; working as a composer and sound designer for various short films, with screenings at major film festivals, such as the Hong Kong Film Festival and Atlanta Film Festival, and on American Airlines’ flights; working as a composer and music producer for promotional videos and advertisements with Sony Innovation Studios, the LA Dodgers, Ibérdrola Portugal, and Dunkin' Donuts (assisting for Beacon Street Studios);  writing library tracks for Liquid Cinema Music and Hans Zimmer’s Bleeding Fingers’ team of composers; and producing music for Boston-based artists. Additionally, Best freelances as a guitarist, having played for artists such as Gareth.T and Rich Tolbert Jr, and clients such as Royal Caribbean Cruises, with the unique opportunity of having performed in front of Ringo Starr.

As a lifelong musician, Best is deeply passionate about music and sound. He believes great music and well-crafted sound design are key in transforming projects into finished productions, and videos into impactful stories.
