Avery Wang and Lindsay (Dechen) Lin present Half and Half Season 3: Black and White, a performance centered around the music of Lala Hsu. Through solo and duet performances, the program explores a complete emotional journey from reflection to release, featuring both well-known songs and lesser-performed works from across Hsu’s discography.
Divided into two parts, the first half focuses on memory through introspective and narrative-driven pieces, while the second half moves toward themes of release and emotional resolution. Through rearrangement and live interpretation, the performers reimagine these works while preserving their emotional core, incorporating their own artistic perspectives and vocal styles. The recital also aims to introduce Mandarin pop music to a broader international audience within Berklee’s diverse musical community.
