Oliver Colvin Interior

Located in the 1140 Boylston Street building, the Oliver Colvin Recital Hall is a venue at the heart of Berklee's performance action. The venue hosts hundreds of events each year, including faculty concerts, senior concerts, and visiting artist clinics and master classes. Most Berklee students lead their first concert in this hall and it is their introduction to performing at the college. Events are free and open to the public, giving the Boston community an opportunity to hear the rich and diverse talent that resides on campus.

The Be-Bop Guitars is a student guitar ensemble featuring some of the better guitarists at Berklee. The music is from the jazz/Latin/blues genres. The music features five guitarists and rhythm section playing intricate arrangements that feature the individuals as well as the ensemble.

This concert will showcase piano faculty Tim Ray and student pianists from his class entitled the Music of Jarrett, Hancock, and Corea. They will perform well-known classics composed by jazz piano legends Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock, and Chick Corea, along with standard pieces associated with their work. Accompanied by bass and drums, this recital represents the culmination of a semester dedicated to listening to, analyzing, and mastering some of the most compelling and influential jazz trio music from the past 60 years.
