Carl Beatty’s work as a recording industry professional, professor of music production and engineering, and academic executive leader spans over 40 years.

From his beginnings as a recording engineer in New York, through long and storied second and third careers at Berklee College of Music as a teacher, chief of staff, and assistant vice president, Beatty has subtly yet indelibly left his mark on the music world.

Beatty taught recording engineering in MP&E for 15 years, until 2005. He is still an engineer at heart. Because that’s what happens after 10,000 hours.
