MEIP: Spring (January) Semester Next Steps
We are looking forward to welcoming you to our community of creators and artists this spring through the Music and English Intensive Program (MEIP). As a reminder, the MEIP program will be fully remote for the spring semester.
Please use the following items as a checklist to make sure that you are prepared to begin classes, and continue to monitor your Berklee email address as more information will be sent to you before classes start in January. If you have any questions, reach out to your enrollment officer at eo@berklee.edu.
OnePass allows you to have one set of login credentials for many of Berklee’s technology services. Use your OnePass credentials to access your Berklee email account, the internal website, and more. We will send your username and password to the email address that you used on your application. All entering MEIP students must submit proof of high school/secondary school or bachelor’s degree prior to matriculation, even if you are transferring into Berklee from another college.
Submit a copy of either your official high school/secondary school diploma or college diploma that includes a graduation date and an official signature and seal. Students who did not submit proof of secondary school completion as part of their application must submit a general report of their credential evaluation through a certified credential evaluation service. Proof of graduation may be emailed to your enrollment officer at eo@berklee.edu. Students seeking transfer credit must submit their most recent college transcript to update their transfer credit records. Some documents may already have been submitted during the application process. Students who are seeking transfer credit via CLEP or AP should submit their official score report(s) to the Office of Admissions. Information on how to submit an official transcript to the Office of Admissions is available on the Transcript and Other Support Materials page. Submit the online SAFO form. All students are required to submit this electronic agreement acknowledging their financial obligations before they will be allowed to check in for the semester. You can find the link to the SAFO form under the Financial Information section of your student portal (Berklee College of Music) or PowerCampus Self-Service (Boston Conservatory at Berklee). Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page, check off the box that you have read and agreed with the three disclosures, and then click "Submit." Students participating in MEIP will need access to a computer or laptop, strong internet connection, webcam (if not in your laptop), and microphone (or computer with a microphone). Depending on your intended program of study, you may have more specific hardware and software requirements for the semester. Please contact your enrollment officer at eo@berklee.edu with any questions. All restrictions on your account must be cleared before you are able to check in for the semester. Log in to the student portal, and select "Semester Check-In" in the Check-In section to view and resolve your restrictions. Tuition bills are due by January 7. You will not be able to check in if you have an outstanding balance. Log in to the student portal to check your balance, pay your bill, and secure your spot. All registered students taking credit hours—regardless of where you are—are automatically enrolled in and billed for the Berklee Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) offered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Due to the pandemic, waiver requirements have been relaxed for the spring semester, and you may be able to waive SHIP with insurance that is otherwise not comparable depending on where you will be physically located. If you want to keep the SHIP, you do not need to take any action except to pay the charge on your student account. If you will be in Massachusetts for the spring 2021 semester, you will need to demonstrate that your own insurance plan is comparable to the SHIP, regardless of your citizenship. Please note that out-of-state HMOs, out-of-state Medicaid plans, and all international health plans are not comparable, and your request to waive the SHIP will be declined. If you will not be in Massachusetts but will be in the United States for the spring 2021 semester: Domestic students: You may be able to waive the SHIP with a plan that is not typically considered to be a comparable plan with the SHIP. These include out-of-state HMOs and out-of-state Medicaid plans. However, you will still need to demonstrate proof of coverage wherever you are located in order to request a waiver for the SHIP. International students: All international health plans are not comparable, and your request to waive the SHIP will be declined. If you will not be in the United States for the spring 2021 semester: U.S. citizens: You may be able to waive the SHIP with a plan that is not typically considered to be a comparable plan with the SHIP. These include out-of-state HMOs and out-of-state Medicaid plans. However, you will still need to demonstrate proof of coverage wherever you are located in order to request a waiver for the SHIP. Non-U.S. citizens: You may be able to waive the SHIP with a plan that is not typically considered to be a comparable plan with the SHIP, such as international health plans or a government-sponsored health plan in your home country. However, you will still need to demonstrate proof of coverage wherever you are located in order to request a waiver for the SHIP. If you will be taking any classes in the spring 2021 semester while physically being in Massachusetts and you were able to waive the SHIP for fall 2020 with an out-of-state HMO, out-of-state Medicaid plan, or an international health plan, you will be billed for the SHIP on a prorated basis. Spring SHIP coverage runs from January 1, 2021, through August 14, 2021. To request a waiver, please go to gallagherstudent.com/berklee and follow the prompts. For information about the waiver process, enrollment, coverage, or insurance verification letters, visit gallagherstudent.com/berklee and click the "Customer Service" link. If you plan to request a waiver, please have your health insurance ID card and related documents available so you can complete the form.
