Let’s Get Medieval combines the lively atmosphere of a medieval fair—complete with food and music—with fascinating mini-lectures and demonstrations from experts across the Liberal Arts and Sciences Department in collaboration with other Berklee College of Music departments.

The Honorable Steven M. Key, associate justice of the Boston Municipal Court Department of the Trial Court of the Commonwealth, will present the annual Jazz and Justice lecture, discussing the challenges and rewards of his work as a trial court judge, along with his inspiring connections to music.

The Native American Church (NAC) is renowned for its sacred peyote songs. The water drum, gourd rattle, and powerful songs are an integral part of the ceremony. In this presentation, historian Erika Dyck provides some of the historical context for the spread of the NAC in North America and its influence on medical research involving “set and setting” for psychedelic studies. 

Kramer Gibson B.M. '12 is a drummer, singer, and pianist. In this concert, he will collaborate with other Berklee graduates and educators, engaging the audience with a performance and roundtable discussion reflecting on the never-ending journey of learning music.
