Andy Milne

Milne has toured and recorded with Ravi Coltrane, Ralph Alessi, Carlos Ward, and Carla Cook, and has collaborated with a range of artists, including Sekou Sundiata, Avery Brooks, Bruce Cockburn, Fred Hersch, and Dianne Reeves. He has composed and produced the scores for seven documentary films directed by William Shatner. In 2013, Milne composed an orchestral work for American Composers Orchestra’s JCOI New Music Readings. In 2014, Lincoln Center premiered his piece Strings and Serpents, commissioned by the Japan Foundation and New Music USA. Milne’s latest work, The Seasons of Being, was recorded for Yamaha Piano’s Diskclavier TV series and premiered at Millersville University in 2015. Commissioned by Chamber Music America, the suite channels the diagnostic insights of homeopathy into music.
In addition to his multiple projects, Milne is a sought-after educator. He serves as assistant director of the School for Improvisational Music and is an adjunct professor at New York University, New School University, and Columbia University.
