Berklee President Roger H. Brown and Linda Mason cordially invite you to a special celebration honoring the life and music of Ustad Zakir Hussain, the Grammy-winning tabla virtuoso. Berklee will present Zakir Ji with an honorary doctorate for his contributions to the global music community.
Produced by the Berklee India Exchange (BIX), the evening’s concert will feature an international cast of students and faculty performing original material and new interpretations of Hussain’s timeless music with the maestro himself.
A portion of the proceeds from the residency events will fund a Zakir Hussain Berklee Scholarship for Indian classical musicians to attend Berklee.
