Yağmur Soydemir is an acclaimed concert flutist, recording artist, composer, arranger, and educator who has earned numerous awards in international solo flute and chamber music competitions across Europe. Currently, she serves as an assistant professor at Berklee College of Music and as flute faculty at Brookline Music School. In 2020, she was honored with the prestigious Turkish Jazz Talent of the Year Scholarship by the Jazz Society of Turkey, and in 2023, she joined the jury panel for the Outstanding Turkey Jazz Music Competition.
Throughout her career, Soydemir has performed with more than 20 prominent symphony orchestras across Turkey and Europe, in addition to delivering numerous solo and chamber music performances on live stages, radio, and television programs. Expanding her expertise in classical music, she frequently performs with her own jazz band and in jazz big bands at prestigious venues, including Berklee Performance Center and MGM Music Hall in Boston. She also performs annually at Turkish National Day ceremonies hosted by the Boston Turkish Consulate, in the Boston Turkish Consulate's Residency, and in the Massachusetts and Rhode Island State Houses.
As a composer and arranger, Soydemir’s works have been performed by small ensembles and orchestras worldwide, with notable performances in Turkey and the U.S.
In addition to her musical endeavors, Soydemir is an advocate for humanitarian causes. She has volunteered for community service programs supporting orphans in Ankara, Turkey, and led children’s choirs as a conductor. In Boston, she has performed in Outreach Concerts and coproduced the Earthquake Relief Project for Türkiye, a collaborative initiative to raise donations for earthquake victims in Turkey, which brought together 80 musicians from 30 different countries, released in partnership with Berklee Productions.
Currently, beyond performing, recording in studios, composing, and arranging, Soydemir is a dedicated educator, offering both online and in-person flute instruction.
