Two Track is a music video series designed for Berklee’s YouTube and social media channels that features artists in an intimate setting with only one microphone and continuous camera takes. Each recording session will revolve around a single theme (i.e., connection, love, dreams) that can be expressed by the artist either through their track selection or through a short storytelling segment that will be recorded as part of the performance. The videos in this series will premiere at specific dates and times, but if you miss the premiere, each video will be public on the channel in continuity.

This Two Track episode features singer-songwriter Zoe Ny performing the songs “Raise Hell” by Brandi Carlile and “Highway,” an original composition by Zoe and Bryan Pope.

About the Artist

Zoe Ny’s songwriting is unmistakably midwestern and unfailingly idealistic. Zoe grew up in Clarkston, Michigan, and her soul-driven melodies and folk-inspired lyrics are blooming in a new generation of Americana. Her voice has unique clarity and incredible depth all at once, and has been compared to performers Susan Tedeschi and Adele.

Zoe started writing music at age 14 on her mom’s upright Baldwin. Her vocal coach had her performing on street corners and, eventually, at festivals and events all across Michigan. For the past four years, Zoe has been working with producers Bryan Pope and Stephen Saputo. In spring 2021, Zoe and Bryan arranged and recorded a live single with cello, piano, and guitar, titled “River/Slip Away.” The following October, Zoe released her fourth single, “Witches in The Wind,” which is available on all streaming platforms and on her website.

Zoe’s band features Jack Holland and Eli on guitars, Leo on mandolin, and Caleb on banjo and dobro.
