Two Track is a music video series designed for Berklee’s YouTube and social media channels that features artists in an intimate setting with only one microphone and continuous camera takes. Each recording session will revolve around a single theme (i.e., connection, love, dreams) that can be expressed by the artist either through their track selection or through a short storytelling segment that will be recorded as part of the performance. The videos in this series will premiere at specific dates and times, but if you miss the premiere, each video will be public on the channel.

This week's Two Track episode features singer songwriter Emilio Gonzalez performing the songs "Blue Motel Room" by Joni Mitchell and "Look Alive" by Emilio Gonzalez.

About the Artist

Emilio Gonzalez is a singer-songwriter from Tampa, Florida whose style is akin to Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell, and Andy Shauf. In 2008, Emilio found himself inspired by the musical stylings of The Rat Pack, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, and more which were first introduced to him via the video game “Fallout 3." During his high school career, Emilio performed with his school jazz band and participated in solo and ensemble competitions. Entering his college years, Emilio found a love for writing music, looking to the work of independent singer-songwriters Lucy Rose, Andy Shauf, Julia Jacklin, and more. After performing at various open mics, restaurants, and bars, he was integrated into the Florida folk scene. This catalyzed a collaboration with artist and producer Liam Bauman, who assisted in the production and recording of Emilio’s recent EP, “Hazy." Emilio now studies at Berklee College of music where he continues to write songs through a creative mix of jazz and folk storytelling.

His band features Emily Sangder and Alex Marquis on vocals, Grace Quackenboss on the piano, Raquel Rosenwald on the guitar, Isaiah Smith on the bass, and Kyle Aronson on the drums.
