Avery Wang presents Truth & Illusion, the fourth and final chapter of his Half & Half recital series at Berklee College of Music. The performance begins in a constructed world of fantasy, desire, and self-projection, before a maglev train carries the audience across the boundary between illusion and reality and into the “real world.” Blending pop, R&B, soul, rock, jazz, electronic, and orchestral influences with strings, horns, SATB background vocals, and a full rhythm section, the concert explores identity, truth, choice, and the search for the authentic self while bringing Wang’s Berklee recital journey to its final chapter.
