In this video rewind from 2017, some of Ella Fitzgerald's biggest hits are featured, including "Mr. Paganini," "How High the Moon," "Flyin' Home," "Oh, Lady Be Good," and, of course, "A-Tisket A-Tasket." These songs, along with some lesser-known chestnuts, round out the program. Ned Rosenblatt arranged the songs into a spectacular overture reminiscent of yesteryear. The show featured a big band, dancers, vintage dresses, and classic tuxedos to transport the audience back in time to the 1950s.

Each semester, between 120 and 180 voice students audition for the opportunity to be cast in Singers Night, one of the Voice Department's premiere shows. Join us for this high-energy concert featuring the students who were chosen during this process, performing solo and in small groups.

2017 marked the 100th anniversary of Ella Fitzgerald's birth. Ella Jane Fitzgerald (1917–1996) was a musical titan, a perfect vocalist who could also sing like an instrumentalist. Plus, she was one of the seminal jazz vocalists who contributed to the course of traditional jazz.
