Signature Series

The Berklee Inauguration Symphony Orchestra will present the opening event celebrating the inauguration of Dr. Erica Muhl as Berklee’s fourth president. This vibrant and expressive contemporary classical orchestral concert will feature President Muhl’s original compositions, as well as works reflecting important musical influences on her career, and showcases Berklee as a place where creativity and achievement flourish. 

Through historical stories from the the musical melting pot of New Orleans, Gumbo Stories will present music ranging from second line and congregational to jazz and bounce.

Join an outstanding global cast of Berklee students for a unique musical experience celebrating the prolific career of singer-songwriter, bassist, activist, actor, and philanthropist Sting ’94H and his diverse and brilliantly crafted body of work as solo artist and principal songwriter in the Police, one of the most sonically distinctive, dynamic, and bestselling rock bands of all time. 

Experience Berklee’s first-ever headphones-based concert, as performers from the popular YouTube series “Two Track” take the stage for one night only. More than a dozen Berklee acts will perform original material and covers, captured with the intimate, one-microphone recording approach that “Two Track” audiences have come to know and love.

The Signature Series at Berklee presents the 14th Annual Berklee Middle Eastern Festival: The Tigran Hamasyan Trio Meets Pletenitsa. The concert will feature Hamasyan’s new project, StandArt, as well as a collaboration with the Pletenitsa Balkan Choir, which will premiere material arranged by Hamasyan.

In this Signature Series event, Latin Grammy-winner Andres Cepeda will perform music in various styles, including Latin rock-pop, bolero, and balada, accompanied by Berklee students.

The Dee Dee Bridgewater Ensemble, directed by Shirazette Tinnin, will feature Berklee honorary doctorate recipient Dee Dee Bridgewater performing Love and Peace: A Tribute to Horace Silver.

In this Signature Series concert, NEA Jazz Master and Berklee honorary doctorate recipient Kenny Barron will be featured with Berklee World Strings, performing Barron’s original music as arranged by Piano Department Professor Eric Gould.

Students from the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice, directed by Edmar Colón, will perform “new standards” from the institute's book of lead sheets, as well as original compositions.

The Berklee Beyoncé Ensemble is a large production that captures the essence of HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) culture and aesthetic.
