Percussion Days: Marko Djordjevic: When the Soloist Does This, I Should Do...? (Video Rewind)
In this video rewind from 2017, percussion faculty Marko Djordjevic holds a clinic/performance discussing improvisation and group interaction. Djordjevic's performance credits include Matt Garrison, Lionel Loueke, Jonah Smith, Clarence Spady, the Mason Brothers, and many others. Djordjevic also leads and writes music for his own group, Sveti.
In a chapter dedicated to him in the book The New Face of Jazz by Cicily Janus, it says that "Marko's name is quickly becoming synonymous with greatness and diversity." Modern Drummer magazine dubs him a "world-class drummer" and a "true innovator."
In this clinic, Djordjevic was joined by star students Justin Salisbury on piano and Petar Krstajic on bass. Natal Drums, Vic Firth, Evans, and Zildjian supported Djordjevic's appearance at Percussion Days 2017.
