Bassist Jared Henderson M.M. ’17 is an active member of the New York City jazz scene who has performed with Dave Liebman, Joe Lovano ’72 ’98H, Jason Palmer, and Julian Lage B.M. ’08.
From the small mountain town of Sisters, Oregon, Henderson began playing bass at age 11, studying primarily with his father.
In 2009, he received a full tuition scholarship to study at Berklee, where he was a member of the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI), an intensive honors program headed by renowned pianist Danilo Pérez. Through BGJI, Henderson worked with leading musicians such as Brian Blade, Terri-Lyne Carrington, Rubén Blades, John Patitucci, and Ben Street.
