Ellis Hamilton (Virtual Concert)
The #BerkleeAnywhere Concert Series features Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee students performing virtually, from wherever they are in the world. We may be separated by distance, but music empowers us to unite. Wherever you are, we invite you to connect with us every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. EDT on Berklee’s IGTV and Facebook pages.
About the Artist
Ellis Hamilton, a senior at Berklee College of Music, is a self-taught musician and composer, proficient on alto saxophone (his primary instrument), drums, and piano. He also plays tenor and soprano saxophone, bass clarinet, vibraphone, and flute. An aspiring film scorer, he is pursuing a double major in performance and film scoring. His academic achievements and musical talents have earned him scholarships and many accolades, including being named one of the 2016 Davidson Fellows by the Davidson Institute for Talent Development, an organization that honors the top 20 students in the country for their extraordinary talent and accomplishments in their respective fields.
An engaging and passionate musician, Hamilton has performed as a solo artist and a member of many ensembles and bands at venues across the country. He has shared the stage numerous times with his mentor, the multiplatinum, Grammy-nominated saxophonist and flautist Najee. Most recently, he was invited to be a guest soloist with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, and he orchestrated one of his original compositions for the Philharmonic to perform. He has also performed internationally on stages in South Korea, Japan, and Germany. With several professional recordings as a featured soloist already under his belt, he's well on his way to achieving his post-Berklee goal of becoming a professional musician and film scorer. Having written, directed, and scored his first short film as a teenager, he endeavors to explore his other interests of screenwriting, directing, editing, and writing novels once he is established.
