Berklee Indian Ensemble: Untold Stories
Melding Indian music in all its forms with spoken word, poetry, and visuals, the Berklee Indian Ensemble brings together unheard voices to tell their stories.
The Berklee Indian Ensemble: Untold Stories production is a labor of love inspired by hundreds of stories that we are afraid to speak about or that get lost in the information overload characteristic of our digital world.
This semester, the Berklee Indian Ensemble delved into issues such as #metoo, #timesup, #blacklivesmatter, bravery vs. perfection, modern-day sacrifices (modern-day Sati), nontraditional career paths, the power of ONE, and much more through stories of oppression, untold heroes, healing, and courage. These stories exist to teach and guide us, to awaken us out of inertia, to remind us of the strength we have inside us, and to help us ask why.
The Berklee Indian Ensemble is world-renowned through its live performances and viral music videos, which have received more than 98 million views. Since 2011, more than 700 musicians representing 49 countries have collaborated in one of the largest and most diverse collectives at Berklee.
