Satellite of Qantara (qantara means arch) brings to life a vision for the unbridled fusion of world jazz, Middle Eastern, Western classical, and Latin American music to transcend the boundaries of genre and geography. The ensemble's motto is "one planet, one music."
The ensemble’s program features original compositions by the ensemble director and students, as well as music from traditional genres from around the world. Improvisation is also a central element in many of the compositions.
