Laura Messina
Laura (she/her) joined the Student Advising and Success team after four years at the New England Conservatory working as an academic and international student advisor. Prior to her career shift to higher education, Laura worked for 10 years as a music teacher and program director in public schools and music-for-social-change programs in Connecticut and Massachusetts. As a seasoned educator of students of all ages, Laura prioritizes getting to know students holistically and meeting them where they are in their academic and personal journey. She is excited to be a part of Berklee’s newly expanded Student Success Advising team and looks forward to working with a student body of future music industry leaders.
Laura holds a Bachelor of Music in music education from Ithaca College and a Master of Science in music education from Western Connecticut State University. She is a cellist and has almost 20 years of professional performance and teaching experience.
Outside of Berklee, Laura enjoys spending time with her family, reading, running long distances, and trying new gluten-free recipes.
