Kirby Kelley, slide guitarist, will present a clinic/performance of acoustic and electric styles as part of the Guitar Department's Blues Week.

Kelley is a Dallas-based slide guitarist known for his ability to pull from a broad palette in the styles of acoustic fingerstyle Delta, Texas, Piedmont blues, and electric blues. As a studio and performing guitarist, his instruments include standard acoustic and electric guitars, slide guitars, lap steel guitars, dobro, bass, baritone, and slack key guitars. Although he predominantly performs as a solo act, he often performs as an integral component of Jr. Clark and the Journeymen.

An avid educator, Kelley taught at the National Guitar Workshop for several years, and has taught at home, in schools, and abroad. A great passion of his is mentoring and guiding wounded and disabled vets with the therapeutic gift of guitar, songwriting, and music through the Austin Veterans' Guitar Project at the Armstrong Community School Of Music in Austin, Texas. Kelley also performs clinics for Paul Reed Smith Guitars and Amplification.

This event is sponsored by the Guitar Department.
