Description

The Rhythm Section ensemble is a class designed to help beginner instrumentalists improve rehearsal and performance techniques within a variety of musical styles ie: pop, rock, jazz, R&B, etc. In this series of supervised lessons and rehearsals, instrumental labs meet in a combination of bass/guitar/drums/piano so that students gain experience critically listening, learning, teaching, and performing music for the purpose of understanding the role of instrumentalists within a band. This course emphasizes hearing and expressing musical ideas with stylistic integrity, as well as melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic accuracy.
