Summer Guitar Sessions Clinic: Julien Kasper—Psychedelic Rock/Jazz

Berklee Summer Guitar Sessions presents a psychedelic rock/jazz clinic with Julien Kasper. Kasper seamlessly channels the fiery expressionism of Jimi Hendrix, the harmonic sophistication of John Scofield, and the emotional power of Jeff Beck. He has integrated these influences into a compositional and improvisational vocabulary that is uniquely his own.

For more than 20 years, Kasper has been a professor in the Guitar Department at Berklee College of Music, where he has become known for his groundbreaking performance labs: Creative Applications, the Jimi Hendrix Lab, and the Jeff Beck Lab.

As a bandleader, Kasper has released four studio albums: Flipping Time (2003), The New Imperial (2006), Trance Groove (featuring T Lavitz of Dixie Dregs and Widespread Panic on Hammond B-3), and his self-titled 2023 release, as well as a live album recorded at Boston Harbor Distillery in 2024. Each album showcases his evolution as a composer and his commitment to organic, live-in-the-studio recording.
