Sara Azriel is an eclectic singer-songwriter whose music combines the universality of pop, the sincerity of folk, and the richness of soul music. Born and raised on the shores of Lake Michigan into a large musical family, Azriel has criss-crossed the country pursuing her music. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, she moved to Los Angeles, performing at venues such as Hotel Cafe, the Knitting Factory, and Walt Disney Hall.
Now based in rural Rhode Island, Azriel is writing her first full-length record inspired by the trees, the birds, and humanity's dazzling ability to overcome.
Her self-titled EP released in 2013 was mixed by Grammy Award–winning mix engineer James M. Wisner (Amy Winehouse, Justin Timberlake) and includes musical, writing, and production contributions from Davy Nathan (Christina Aguilara, Babyface), and Andrew ‘Moon’ Bain (Snoop Dogg, Major Lazer).
- Original music has been performed and broadcast internationally, on MTV and in revered venues across the U.S. such as Babylon (Istanbul), Knitting Factory (Los Angeles), House of Blues (Boston), the Columbus Theatre (Providence), and Narrows Center for the Arts (Fall River, MA).
- Cofounded and executive-directed MARS Camp, a holistic songwriting and recording program for underserved youth
- Former students include actors Mark Ruffalo and Ryan Gosling
- Performed saxophone in Netflix film The Polka King starring Jack Black
- Fellowship in Music Composition - Rhode Island State Council for the Arts (2019)
