The Tuna of the University of America in Bogotá, Colombia, was founded in 1991 by a group of students from various faculties of the institution under the direction of Camilo Reyes. A university tuna is a traditional musical group that wears a combination of traditional costumes and plays instruments such as guitar, bandola, mandolin, violin, castanet, cajón, bass, accordion, and tambourine.
This tuna has recorded three musical productions: Ensueño y Alegría (2001), Volveremos a Encontrarnos (2011), and Concierto 25 Años (2016). The tuna was the winner of the XIV International Tuna Festival of Duitama, at which 32 tunas from Peru, Chile, and Mexico performed.
