Bobby Elder (a.k.a. bobbyandthebass) will be administering groove-based auditory medicine with the help of other incredible Berklee musicians. You’ll experience gospel, pop, jazz, funk, and everything else the doctor didn’t prescribe to cleanse your soul.
Singer-songwriter and arranger Rakel Saranga, an undergraduate at Berklee College of Music, brings a rich blend of influences—from jazz to Middle Eastern music—shaped by her experiences across Turkey, Germany, Israel, and the US. Her music bridges diverse cultures with genuine, heartfelt songs.
The Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Julius P. Williams, will perform alongside an extraordinary jazz quintet featuring legendary bassist Ron Carter, saxophone virtuoso Joe Lovano, masterful pianist Kenny Werner, versatile drummer Ron Savage, and Italian saxophonist Marco Pignataro, the artistic director of Va Pensiero. This concert, part of the Festival of Italian Creativity 2024, is sponsored by the Italian Consulate of Boston.

Professor of percussion Ricardo Monzon hosts a special performance featuring guests from the Academia de Bachata, part of the DREAM Project, hailing from the Dominican Republic. Academia de Bachata offers free, intensive instruction in the traditional music of Latin America and the Caribbean, engaging youth in cultural expression.
Upstate New Yorker Henry Ferland finds the balance between country fingerstyle guitar, jazz, and rock. This recital will feature a unique set of solo acoustic guitar, bebop jazz, blues, and jam rock.
For his senior recital, guitarist Zhi Xu presents a concert showcasing his musical explorations in his favorite genres. Join him for an evening of diverse and introspective performances.
Enjoy a strings showcase by students who spent the week learning from and jamming with Berklee faculty and scholars, including Adrian Anantawan, Beth Bahia Cohen, Bruce Molsky, César Secundino, Chelsey Green, David Wallace, Jeremy Harman, Jozef Nadj, Mimi Rabson, Patrice Jackson-Tilghman, and Hui Weng. Expect many diverse genres, including Arabic, funk, jazz, Latin, old-time, pop, Roma, and more.
