Pedro Barboza
Join Venezuelan guitarist and composer Pedro Barboza B.M. '97 for a clinic specializing in Venezuelan contemporary guitar. Barboza, founder and music director of the Escuela Itinerante de Música in Caracas, Venezuela, is influenced by many styles, including free improvisation, traditional, and contemporary music.
With a repertoire that has been performed on various international stages, Barboza is considered one of the most important guitarists of the current musical scene in Venezuela. His band, the Pedro Barboza Quartet, works together in true jazz style, delivering a fresh repertoire loaded with Afro-Venezuelan rhythms and sonorous textures.
Barboza is working on various multidisciplinary projects, including directing the Patchwork Ensemble, which includes sound, movement, text, and images as a representation of the contemporary language of creation.
