This clinic will cover the function of the different percussion instruments in the Cuban timba. Timba is a very complex musical style that developed in Cuba in the 1970s. It merges different genres, such as salsa, traditional Afro-Cuban folkloric heritage, and American influences of funk/R&B. Keisel  Jimenez will show where this movement comes from and its foundations and peculiarities.
