The Evolution of Brazilian Rhythms by Chico Medori

In this interactive workshop, Chico Medori will explain the differences between various Brazilian rhythms, including samba, axé, olodum, and afoxé, among others.
Also covered will be Brazilian rhythms that have been influenced by African and Jamaican ones, such as forró, xote, arrasta-pé, frevo, maracatu, ciranda, and xaxado.
The workshop will include audience participation, with students and anyone else who is interested invited to play Brazilian percussion instruments.
