Description
This course is a continuation of CM-398, Directed Study of Composition 1, and also offers 30 minute private instruction in composition. Students will write compositions for voice and/or ensemble that meet the requirements for the Composition Major Portfolio. Emphasis is on both developing stylistic diversity and on gaining experience in writing for various musical textures and ensemble combinations that reflect the present-day usage, as well as on larger-scope compositions. Additional attendance of the weekly Directed Study Seminar is required.
