Identity-Based Celebrations

Latinx Graduation Celebration

In 2023, Berklee launched its first Latinx graduation celebration, honoring the graduating students of the Latinx and Hispanic diasporas to gather and celebrate their culture, journey, and achievements in the community. More information is to come regarding the 2025 Latinx Graduation Celebration.

Lavender Graduation Celebration

Launched in 2019, Lavender is a gathering that honors LGBTQ+ graduates and was initiated by Berklee students who had a vision and desire to celebrate their journeys and achievements in community. More information is to come regarding the 2025 Lavender Graduation Celebration.

Jabulani 2024

Jabulani is a Zulu word meaning "rejoice." As the current academic journeys of our African, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Latinx, Black, and African American college and conservatory graduates come to an end, we collectively rejoice. Jabulani was envisioned by two 2019 Black graduating seniors who endeavored to create a culminating "rite of passage" experience grounded in an African aesthetic that equally represented the creative excellence of Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee. More information is to come regarding Jabulani 2025.

Berklee distributes stoles as part of our Latinx, Lavender, and Jabulani commencement celebrations.
