How to Submit to SEAMUS 2019
If you would like to submit a composition to SEAMUS 2019, you must be a member. Members can submit:
- one original musical work,
- one installation proposal, and/or
- one paper or workshop proposal.
Music formats include fixed media electro-acoustic works, compositions for real-time interactive performance, and works combining sound and video. Composers whose work is selected are required to attend the conference.
Selected works will be presented in one of five spaces: an eight-channel concert hall, a 5.1 surround hall with video, a four-channel concert hall, a stereo listening room, or a gallery for sound installation. To be maximally inclusive, we would like to give preference to compositions that are 12 minutes in duration or less. Papers should be 20 minutes, plus 10 minutes for Q&A.
Adjudication is a peer-reviewed, double-blind process. Read more about the adjudication process.
The submission portal will close 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 1, 2018. Notifications will be made in early December 2018. We will have multiple speaker configurations and do our best to accommodate various routings. Please be prepared to conform to the guidelines as times are very limited.
