Berklee Revelation Records 2025

SUBMISSIONS FOR 2025 ARE NOW OPEN

The Professional Music Department's Berklee Revelation Records is accepting submissions for our 2025 Artist cohort. This year, we are looking to sign three artists who will receive a one-year record deal in exchange for one recorded song. Past projects include Radical Self Love and ISSA Vibe, which included artists such as Cinya Khan, levi, Angela Morano, Bri, Grace Yang, and Joey Madison, among others. 

 

Artists must be enrolled at Berklee College of Music during the Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 semesters on the Boston campus only. Each artist is allowed to submit two (2) demos, all of which must be original music by the artist turning in the application.

Who we are looking for: 

  • Artists/Bands 
  • Artists writing songs with lyrics that have depth from genres including: Indie, Alternative, Rock, R&B, Neo-Soul, Jazz, Singer Songwriter, Folk, Americana, Hip-Hop, Latin, and music from all languages 
  • People from all backgrounds are welcome to apply

Guidelines for this year's submission: 

  • Up to two (2) demos may be submitted.
  • Length of demos should not exceed 5 minutes.
  • All submissions must be an original composition by the artists/collaborators. The composers retain all rights.
  • All artists must be currently enrolled at Berklee College of Music or Berklee at Boston Conservatory in the Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 semester, on the Boston campus.
  • No hate speech. 
  • Demos must be original compositions intended for this project only. 
  • We will not accept previously released songs via any platforms, or any songs that are set for release within two years of the BRR album release date in April/May 2025.
  • Each artist/band will work with a mixing and mastering engineer to finish the chosen track(s). 
  • Songs are to be submitted via an accessible link (dropbox, google drive, Soundcloud, etc.) and must be in mp3 format. All submissions must be private and give accessibility to revelationrecords@berklee.edu. Any submission not made accessible to us will be disqualified. 
  • Submission forms must be completed in full. 
  • All artists must be available for Berklee Revelation Records artists showcase tentatively scheduled for April 15, 2025.
  • All artists must be available to attend required meetings regarding the project throughout the Spring semester.

Criteria for selection include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Current status as a Berklee College of Music student in good standing required. You must have a 2.7 GPA.
  • High level of performance/compositional/musical integrity.   
  • Quality of demo unimportant—Logic, ProTools, etc., is fine, but the recording must be a clear mp3 or .wav file. However, if you have a professional-sounding recording, we'll take it! 

 

Contract and Important Dates: 

  • Upon selection, artist must sign a contract to confirm participation in the project. 
  • The course faculty member will be available for questions that you may have at revelationrecords@berklee.edu.
  • Dates (subject to change and will be shared with all artists): 
    • December - January: Song Writing and Development
    • January - February: Recording, Mixing, Mastering 
    • April - May: Song Rollout and Release  
    • Apr 15, 2024: BRR Showcase
